Caltrans Planning Grants - Call for Projects

February 11 deadline for proposals to fund planning projects that improve mobility and lead to the planning, programming, and implementation of transportation improvement projects.

Caltrans announced the application cycle for FY 2010-2011 Transportation Planning Grants, due to Caltrans March 01, 2010.  The announcement is posted on their website:  http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/tpp/grants.html.  There are several types of Transportation Planning Grants, as outlined below:

 

Transportation Planning Grants or Partnership Planning and Transit Planning Grants

Applications for these grants must be submitted by SCAG as the Applicant to Caltrans, with local agencies as Sub-Recipients.  To ensure we meet this deadline we are requesting all local agencies planning on applying to submit their applications to SCAG by February 11, 2010, 4:00 pm.

Please Note:
A Match must be provided and funded with local funds (Non-Federal).  The type of Match (Cash or In-Kind) must be indicated in the grant application.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) may be required between SCAG and the Co-Applicant to formalize the roles and responsibilities of each party.

Environmental Justice & Community-Based Transportation Planning Grants

Applications for these grants can be submitted DIRECTLY to Caltrans by Transportation Planning Agencies, Cities, Counties, Transit Agencies & Native American Tribal governments, and MPO’s as APPLICANTS – all others must submit through an agency listed as applicant in the Caltrans Transportation Planning Grant Summary Chart.  This chart is included in the Transportation Planning Guide which is located on the Caltrans websiteDeadline date for submission of applications to Caltrans is April 01, 2010, 5:00 pm.
